Sírius, příspěvková organizace

Sírius provides social services for children, young people and adults with intellectual and multiple disabilities, primarily from the Moravian-Silesian Region. Its services include residential homes for people with disabilities and supported housing.

The support provided through these services enables people to live in accordance with the principles of normalisation, with the right to take reasonable risks and make their own decisions.

Sírius provides social services for people with disabilities who can no longer live in their natural home environment and need assistance and support in their daily lives. We provide individualised services based on agreed conditions, enabling people to make use of the same everyday opportunities as others.

We aim to support each person’s individual development and give them access to experiences that may otherwise be more difficult to achieve. Everyone has their own needs and wishes, and we do our best to help fulfil them.

Our goal is to gradually remove the perceived boundary between life in an institution and life within the wider community. People with disabilities want to do the same things and live their lives just like everyone else – it simply requires more effort and support.

Sírius follows the motto: “Respect + Cooperation + Support + Solutions = Quality”

It reflects the fundamental principles of our work and our approach to clients, employees and the wider community.

These values are more than a formal expression of our philosophy – they are actively reflected in everyday practice across all our services.

Respect

Every person has their own unique value, experience and needs.

Our goal is to provide social services with a strong emphasis on human dignity and an individual approach. We respect not only the rights and wishes of our clients, but also their personal choices and opportunities, helping them to live as independently and fulfilling a life as possible.

Cooperation

Effective social care is only possible through cooperation – between our employees, clients, their families and external partners.

We believe that sharing experience, open communication and teamwork lead to better outcomes and contribute to the overall quality of the care we provide.

We work with other institutions, educational organisations and professionals so that we can continuously develop and improve our services.

Support

The support we provide is based on each client’s individual needs and abilities.

We strive to create an environment that encourages personal development, improves quality of life and helps people overcome barriers.

Our services are designed to support clients in achieving the greatest possible level of independence while also providing a safe and reliable source of assistance whenever it is needed.

Solutions

In social care, we face challenges every day that require a flexible and effective approach.

We focus on finding practical, specific solutions that reflect both the needs of our clients and the possibilities of our organisation.

We continuously work on innovation and look for ways to improve our services so that they are as effective and beneficial as possible.

Quality

The result of our approach, built on the principles above, is the quality of the services we provide.

Quality is both our priority and our commitment to our clients and their families.

Each of our centres adapts its principles and working methods to the specific needs of its service users, the possibilities of the provider and the environment in which the services are delivered.

We regularly evaluate and analyse our work to maintain a high standard of care and continuously develop our services.

Following these principles allows us to fulfil our mission and contribute to improving the lives of the people who place their trust in us.

We recognise that the quality of social services is never static. It requires continuous work, reflection and a willingness to respond to the changing needs of society.

In the years ahead, we will continue striving to provide services to a high professional standard and with the greatest possible respect for the people we support.

Volunteers in Our Organisation

Our clients use both residential services, intended for people who require a higher level of support, and supported housing services for those who require less assistance.

Our clients include children, adults and older people with intellectual and multiple disabilities.

Many of them would greatly appreciate the opportunity to spend their free time with someone who is there specifically for them – whether actively through conversations about their favourite topics, accompanying them on walks or trips to places of interest, or simply spending time together by reading, watching a film or enjoying each other’s company.

Volunteer activities can take place within our individual services as well as outside them – for example in a café, cake shop, cinema or another public place.

We have no special requirements for volunteers. We simply expect kindness, respect and a natural, dignified approach towards people with disabilities.
