Regionální knihovna Karviná is a place where education, culture, technology and people of different generations come together. In addition to traditional library services, it organises cultural and educational events, film screenings, workshops and a wide range of activities for the public. In this way, the library creates a welcoming space for meeting others, sharing experiences and helping one another.

Volunteering at Our Organisation

Volunteering at Regionální knihovna Karviná can take many forms. It all depends on what you enjoy, what you are good at or what new skills you would like to develop.

If you are interested in social media, video or graphic design, you can get involved in content creation – filming Reels, taking photographs, creating graphic materials or helping to showcase what is happening at the library.

Interested in film and culture? You can help with film screenings, preparing the venue, welcoming visitors, organisational support or other cultural and educational events.

There are also plenty of opportunities for volunteers who enjoy technology and working with people. For example, you can help older people use smartphones, tablets or computers and make the digital world easier for them to navigate.

You can also get involved in lectures, workshops, creative sessions and other events for the public.

Volunteering opportunities are varied and can be adapted to your interests, experience and availability.

What You Can Gain from Volunteering

By volunteering, you help others while also gaining experience that can be valuable during your studies and in your future career. You can develop your communication skills by working with different groups of people, gain experience in event organisation and teamwork, or create content for a real audience.

You can also use your own photographs, videos or graphic design work in your portfolio. Most importantly, you will meet new people and become part of activities that have a direct impact on life in Karviná.

Do you enjoy working with people, culture, social media or technology? Join the volunteers at Regionální knihovna Karviná and put your skills to use where they can make a difference.
