Get involved in volunteering at SU

Volunteering is about people who choose to get involved. People who believe that even a small act of help can make a big difference. At the Silesian University Volunteer Centre, we bring together students, staff and alumni who want to lend a hand – while learning something new, meeting new people and knowing that their time is making a real difference.

All you need is the desire to get involved.
We’ll help you find the opportunity that’s right for you.

Get involved in something that matters to you

Everyone has something to offer – time, energy, ideas or simply the desire to be part of something positive. At the Silesian University Volunteer Centre, you can find a place where your help really makes a difference. Whether you want to lend a hand once in a while or volunteer regularly, there are opportunities for everyone.

Partnerships that make a difference

We believe that collaboration creates the greatest impact. That’s why we connect the University with organisations that want to give students the opportunity to take part in meaningful projects and volunteer activities. Together, we build a community that benefits both people and the region while helping students develop valuable skills and a strong sense of civic responsibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I get involved in volunteering?

Simply register on the OnSinch platform once it is launched, or send us an email. We’ll help you find an activity that matches your interests and makes sense for you.

Do I need any previous experience?

Not at all. Volunteering is open to everyone – what matters most is the willingness to help. Some organisations will provide training, while others will teach you everything you need to know as you go.

How much time will it take?

That’s entirely up to you. Some activities are one-off opportunities, such as helping at an event, while others are long-term. When you register, you can choose how much time you would like to dedicate to volunteering.

Will I receive confirmation of my volunteer work?

Yes! Every volunteer receives confirmation of their participation and the skills they have gained. At some faculties, volunteering may also be recognised as part of your studies.

Can I volunteer outside the University too?

Absolutely. We work with a wide range of non-profit organisations, schools, hospitals and community initiatives across the region. You can choose an opportunity based on your interests.

What if I don’t know where to start?

Get in touch with our student ambassadors. They’ll help you find the right opportunity based on your interests and availability. You can find them in the Volunteer Centre Team section.

Would you like to partner with us?

Tell us about your organisation and how volunteers could help.

Together, we’ll build a partnership that benefits both your organisation and the University.
